One year of Typekit
Typekit is probably the best known provider to offer a server based solution to use fonts on the web. No longer would web designers »buy« font files and deal with licensing questions and technical barriers – a simple fee gives online access to a certain number of typefaces, available on the web for all major platforms and browsers.
Tim Brown will explain, how this solution works, how it protects the font files against piracy and what’s the difference to other server based webfont solutions. One year after Typekit’s public launch, this presentation shows, what the Typekit team has learned in their first year of the service, what’s next for web fonts, and how type designers are finding a new audience for their work.
