Helmut Ness is Co-Founder, Managing Partner and CDO of Fuenfwerken based in Berlin and Wiesbaden, which is one of the leading owner-managed CD/CI Agencies in Germany. As a type designer, he developed the traffic information typeface Vialog (Linotype/Monotype), which is in use for the Munich Subway, the spanish railway RENFE and the highway road signs in Japan. As a Fuenfwerker, he is delighted with the interaction of strategy, creativity, technology, management and understanding. As a designer, he is looking forward to smart ways to integrate UI development with smart (icon) font development. Since 2010, he has been Member of the IIID (International Institute of Information design) Expert Forum Committee and the Board of IDZ (International Design Center, Berlin).
