Indra Kupferschmid is a typographer and professor at the University of Arts Saar but would love to just choose typefaces full-time. She’s designing publications, consults for industry clients and type companies, researches about type history and classifications, takes part in DIN committees and all sorts of clubs, writes for websites and magazines, as well as books like Buchstaben kommen selten allein or Helvetica Forever. In a previous age she designed bitmap fonts for appliances by, among others, Opel, Philips, Bosch or Siemens — the trickier the merrier.
